Gothic Sculpture in America

Please join us for a lecture by Dr. Jennifer Feltman
Associate Professor, University of Alabama, Department of Art and Art History
Many Gothic sculptures were damaged or lost during the French Revolution. Some entered art markets between the World Wars when they became prized by collectors. This lecture traces stories of loss, discovery, Franco-American research using nuclear science, and recent efforts to digitally reconstruct the fragments from French cathedrals.
